Description:

Women with HIV bear a heavy burden of traumatic and violent experiences. The Canadian HIV Sexual and Reproductive Health Cohort Study (CHIWOS) demonstrated alarming rates of violence amongst WLWH in Canada. Experiences of trauma are linked to worsening health outcomes including four times the rate of antiretroviral (ARV) failure for women with HIV. This project aims to highlight the importance of addressing healing from trauma and violence for women with HIV

Women in rural and urban settings, and includes women who use drugs, Trans women, Indigenous women, women engaged in sex work, and women from African/Caribbean/Black (ACB) communities
