Description:
This study found that homophobia and the lack of visible presence of PHAs within these communities sustain stigma and denial. This undermines HIV/AIDS prevention efforts and heightens discrimination against ethno-racial PHAs. It also highlights the need to mobilize PHA and other community champions to address HIV/AIDS-related stigma within these communities. CHAMP evaluated the effectiveness of two stigma reduction interventions study in reducing HIV stigma: Acceptance Commitment Training (ACT) and Social Justice Capacity Building (SJCB).
Purpose and Objectives:
The goal of the study is to address HIV stigma through collective empowerment, capacity building, and community championship
Method:
Mixed Methods. This study will pilot and test two interventions with potential to mobilize community champions as key agents to advance HIV/AIDS work. Focus groups after intervention
